Can you pay for Cursor with crypto?

Last updated: · 5 min read

Quick answer

Can you pay for Cursor with crypto?

No. You cannot pay for Cursor with crypto: as of 22 October 2026, Cursor says "Self-serve plans support all major credit and debit cards", and its plans are sold only through X Subscription Corp, which authorizes no resellers or third-party sellers. Premium costs $30 a month. AISubswithCrypto sells crypto gift cards for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, but nothing that pays Cursor.

How does Cursor take payment?

By card, through X Subscription Corp. Cursor's pricing page lists Plus at $8 a month (Grok models only), Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200, with Teams from $30 per user. Its FAQ says "Self-serve plans support all major credit and debit cards". Invoices and wire transfers are for Enterprise only.

These are the same plans as the X Subscription, which bundles Grok, X perks and Cursor. Its payment page, updated 12 October 2026, lists card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. Use of third-party models inside Cursor is billed separately.

Can I pay for Cursor with an App Store gift card through Grok?

Not by any documented route. The Grok iPhone app sells SuperGrok tiers through the App Store, at $10, $30, $100 and $300 in the US. But those app tiers do not map one to one to the web X Subscription tiers, and no xAI or Cursor page we read says an App Store purchase includes Cursor.

xAI also says existing SuperGrok subscribers move to the X Subscription on the web only: "Switching in the mobile apps isn't available yet." So an Apple balance pays SuperGrok in the Grok app, which is covered on our SuperGrok page, and not Cursor.

Why can't I buy Cursor from a reseller or a cheap account seller?

Because Cursor forbids both. Its pricing page says: "Subscriptions are only sold directly through X Subscription Corp. We do not authorize any resellers or third-party sellers." Its terms, updated 3 September 2026, say users may not "rent, lease, lend, or sell the Service".

Account marketplaces still list Cursor: our research found a "new account" sold for 1,349 roubles. A pre-made account means the seller registered it, keeps its email and can take it back. The risks of each delivery model are on our page about buying a cheap ChatGPT Plus account.

Do other AI coding tools take crypto?

No. According to AISubswithCrypto's payment check of 22 October 2026, none of the 3 AI coding tools we checked lists crypto, and none offers a gift card on the pages we read. Method: the official pricing, help and terms pages of each tool, read that day.

  • Cursor: cards; no resellers.
  • GitHub Copilot: Pro $10 a month, "Bank card or PayPal"; one login may not be shared by several people.
  • Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf): Pro $20 a month; no payment methods listed on its pricing page.

Only 3 of the 40 AI products in the same check list crypto officially: Suno, OpenRouter and NanoGPT. None of them is a coding editor.

What can I do if my card is declined on Cursor?

Ask your bank first, because Cursor takes cards only. Two bank-side rules from our research hit any foreign card subscription, Cursor included:

  • India: recurring card payments, "domestic or cross-border", need a registered e-mandate, with extra authentication above ₹15,000 per transaction.
  • Nigeria: naira cards carry foreign-spending caps, such as $500 a month at First Bank and Wema since July 2025.

Ask whether the card allows online, foreign and recurring payments, and whether a cap blocked the charge. Cursor has no country list of its own: it defers to each model provider. The ChatGPT card-declined guide covers the bank rules country by country.

What can AISubswithCrypto do for Cursor?

Nothing. We sell no Cursor card, since Cursor offers none that we found, and we never resell Cursor plans: Cursor authorizes no third-party sellers. We never sell, share or rent ChatGPT, Claude or other AI accounts, and we never ask for your login or password.

What we sell is narrow: Digital Apple Gift Card (App Store & iTunes), Google Play and ChatGPT gift card codes, the cards that pay ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, Google AI Pro, Perplexity Pro and other AI subscriptions bought in the App Store, on Google Play or on chatgpt.com. An Apple Gift Card or Google Play gift card pays tools that bill through those stores, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Google AI Pro. Cursor bills through X Subscription Corp, not through the stores.

Questions about paying Cursor

Does Cursor accept PayPal?

Not on the pages we read. Cursor's FAQ names credit and debit cards, and the X Subscription payment page lists card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. PayPal is not among them.

Does Cursor accept Bitcoin or USDT?

No. No crypto appears on Cursor's pricing page, its FAQ or the X Subscription payment page (read 22 and 29 October 2026).

Can I buy Cursor Pro from a reseller?

No. Cursor says subscriptions are "only sold directly through X Subscription Corp" and that it does not authorize any resellers or third-party sellers. Its paid plans are now called Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra.

Is there a Cursor gift card?

Not that we found. Cursor's pricing and billing pages mention no gift card or prepaid code.
