Does OpenAI accept crypto for ChatGPT Plus?
No. OpenAI's billing help lists credit and debit cards in all countries, plus regional methods such as UPI, Pix, GoPay, GCash, MoMo, Kakao Pay and Link bank debit. No coin or crypto processor appears in that list (read 22 October 2026). Subscriptions started in the mobile apps are billed by the store: "Apple App Store subscriptions are managed by Apple", says OpenAI's help center.

Which three routes pay for ChatGPT Plus with crypto?
Each route uses a different card and a different place to subscribe. The rules column quotes the store or the issuer, read on 29 October 2026. OpenAI's help does not name Apple or Google Play balance as a payment method.

US App Store prices exclude sales tax; most other storefronts include tax. Apple shows no billing period: the monthly price is the most frequent price of each item. A second item named "ChatGPT Plus" at US$200.00 always carries the Pro $200 price; OpenAI says it does not support annual billing for Go, Plus or Pro, so it is not an annual Plus plan.

According to AISubswithCrypto's price check of 29 October 2026, one in-stock Apple card covers a month of ChatGPT Plus in 26 of the 38 App Store countries that sell ChatGPT: every country where our Apple card is in stock. Method: the smallest single card value we sell in that country that is at least the monthly App Store price; US and Canadian prices exclude sales tax, so we add 12% and 15% there. Google Play prices were not checked, so the last column only lists the Google Play values we sell.

How do I pay for ChatGPT Plus on iPhone with crypto?
This is the route our cards cover best. If you already pay ChatGPT on another platform, OpenAI says "you must first cancel your subscription on the same platform where you originally started it."
Check your Apple Account country
The card must be from that country. A card works only with an Apple Account or Google account of the same country as the card, and an App Store or Google Play subscription renews from that balance only while it lasts.

Choose Plus in the app. Apple states that it "attempts to use your Apple Account balance to cover the full amount" before any other payment method.
What does Apple say about paying subscriptions with a gift card balance?
Apple's rules state that an Apple Account balance can "pay for subscriptions to apps from the App Store." The same page keeps two caveats: "Some subscriptions might not be charged to your Apple Account balance" and some purchases need "a credit card on file". Apple does not list which ones.
At renewal, Apple charges the balance first, then your other payment methods. With none that works, "your account shows a negative balance" and purchases stop until you add funds. Apple's developer documentation says the App Store keeps trying to renew for up to 60 days. So a US$25 card pays one month at US$19.99; the rest waits for the next renewal. Can I pay for ChatGPT Plus on Android with a Google Play card?
Probably, but nobody states it for ChatGPT. OpenAI's gift card help mentions ChatGPT subscriptions "billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store", so Google Play bills ChatGPT on Android. Google says you "can buy & subscribe to content & services on Google Play" with your balance, in the balance's currency. It also says "Some subscriptions do not accept Stored Value" without naming them.
Two gaps remain. Google Play prices for ChatGPT were not checked, so we do not say which card value pays a month. And Google does not say whether a Play balance keeps paying renewals until it is empty. We sell Google Play gift card codes in 43 countries: see the Google Play card page.
Can I pay for ChatGPT Plus on the website with crypto?
Only through OpenAI's own US card. The ChatGPT gift card is OpenAI's own US card: it is redeemed at chatgpt.com/redeem by a user in the United States and pays ChatGPT on the web, not App Store or Google Play subscriptions. OpenAI voids cards obtained from unauthorized sellers, so we take it on request only and confirm its source before any payment. OpenAI sells it from US$15 to US$250, for "US-based ChatGPT accounts" billed in dollars; the balance pays Go, Plus or Pro and does not expire.

What should you not do when paying for ChatGPT Plus with crypto?
Do not buy a ChatGPT account, a shared seat or an "upgrade on your account" that needs your password. OpenAI's terms say: "You may not share your account credentials or make your account available to anyone else." Its sharing policy adds that an account is meant for "the individual who created it".
