Does xAI accept crypto for SuperGrok?
No. On the web, Grok plans are now sold as one "X Subscription". xAI's docs say it is paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link (read 29 October 2026), and its FAQ says "Self-serve plans support all major credit and debit cards" (read 22 October 2026). No coin and no crypto processor appears.
The Grok app is the crypto route. In the App Store, the "Grok AI" app by X Corp. still sells four SuperGrok tiers, billed by Apple. On Android, xAI's docs say that "If you bought Grok, Grok Bot, or X Premium through Google Play", you manage it in Google Play.

A second item named "SuperGrok" carries the SuperGrok Heavy price in 37 of 39 countries; Apple's page does not say what it is, so we do not call it a yearly plan. The app also sells extra usage credits from US$5 to US$100.

The X Subscription is paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link only. Its FAQ says subscriptions are sold only by X Subscription Corp. and that it does not authorize "any resellers or third-party sellers".
Can I keep SuperGrok in the app after the move to the X Subscription?
Yes, as far as xAI's docs go. Existing SuperGrok subscribers can move to the X Subscription on the web only: "Switching in the mobile apps isn't available yet", say xAI's payment docs, updated 12 October 2026. A SuperGrok plan bought in the App Store stays billed by Apple until you cancel it there.
Moving to the web means leaving the card route, since the X Subscription takes no gift card balance. If you pay with crypto, the App Store tiers are the ones a card covers.

Does an Apple gift card balance pay SuperGrok?
Apple's rules state that an Apple Account balance pays subscriptions bought in the App Store: "Or pay for subscriptions to apps from the App Store." xAI's docs do not name Apple balance. Apple keeps unnamed exceptions, "Some subscriptions might not be charged to your Apple Account balance", and some purchases need a credit card on file.
At renewal, Apple tries the balance first. With nothing to charge, the account shows a negative balance until you add funds. In the US, a US$50 card pays one month at US$30.00; the balance left (US$20 before tax) needs another US$25 card for the second month.
Can I pay for Grok with a Google Play card?
xAI's docs say Grok is sold through Google Play and managed there. Google states that Play balance pays subscriptions on Google Play, in the balance's currency, but that "Some subscriptions do not accept Stored Value". Grok is not named either way.

What should you not buy?
A shared Grok account or a SuperGrok "activation" that needs your password. xAI's terms say "You may not share your account credentials or make your account available to anyone else", and the X Subscription FAQ authorizes no resellers. We never sell, share or rent ChatGPT, Claude or other AI accounts, and we never ask for your login or password.
