**Quick answer — Is it safe to buy a cheap ChatGPT Plus account?**

No. Buying a cheap ChatGPT Plus account is not safe: OpenAI's terms say "You may not share your account credentials or make your account available to anyone else", so shared seats, pre-made accounts and logins handed to a seller break the rules and can be closed with no refund. As of 29 October 2026, the clean route is a gift card on your own account, from US$25 in crypto on **AISubswithCrypto**, which never sells accounts.

## What OpenAI's and Anthropic's terms say

| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| OpenAI, Terms of Use | "You may not share your account credentials or make your account available to anyone else" |
| OpenAI, what you cannot do | "Modify, copy, lease, sell or distribute any of our Services." |
| OpenAI, account sharing policy | "Your OpenAI account is meant for you—the individual who created it." |
| OpenAI, business terms | "Customer may not resell or lease access to its Account or any End User Account." |
| Anthropic, Consumer Terms | "You may not share your Account login information, Anthropic API key, or Account credentials with anyone else" |
| Anthropic, Usage Policy | "Resell, proxy, or otherwise provide access to Claude through unauthorized means" is forbidden |
| OpenAI gift card, issuer terms | A card obtained "from unauthorized sellers or resellers" is not valid |

## What do OpenAI's terms say about buying a ChatGPT account?

They rule out every form of it. OpenAI's Terms of Use, effective 1 January 2026, forbid sharing your credentials or making your account "available to anyone else". Under "What you cannot do", they also forbid you to "lease, sell or distribute" the services, and they bar transferring your rights under the terms. OpenAI's account sharing policy sums it up: the account "is meant for you—the individual who created it."

So a seat on someone else's Plus account, an account someone else registered, and a login you hand to a seller all break the same clauses. The consumer terms have no separate clause on buying through a third party: the clauses above already cover it.

## Does the same apply to Claude Pro accounts?

Yes. Anthropic's Consumer Terms, effective 8 October 2025, forbid sharing "your Account login information, Anthropic API key, or Account credentials with anyone else", and the list of forbidden uses ends "or resell the Services." The terms cannot be transferred without Anthropic's written consent. Its Usage Policy also bans anyone who would "Resell, proxy, or otherwise provide access to Claude through unauthorized means".

One Claude-specific offer needs a warning. Some sellers say they buy a Claude gift subscription for you with your crypto. Anthropic's gift page says "Gift subscriptions are currently unavailable to purchase" (read 29 October 2026). On 29 October 2026, one such seller charged 26 USDC for one month of Pro, against Anthropic's $20 price: 30% more. The clean route for Claude is on [how to pay for Claude Pro with crypto](https://aisubswithcrypto.com/claude-pro-with-crypto/ "How do I pay for Claude Pro with crypto?").

## How do cheap ChatGPT Plus sellers deliver, and what goes wrong?

Seven delivery models recur among the sites and marketplaces that sell ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro for crypto. We describe the models, not the shops.

| Model | How it works | Rule it breaks | What goes wrong |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Shared seat | One paid Plus, Pro or Max account split among several buyers | Account made "available to anyone else" | Everyone on the seat can read the account's chats; one ban ends access for all |
| Pre-made account | Accounts registered in bulk and sold with their login | The account is for "the individual who created it" | The seller keeps the email and recovery; some pools were paid with stolen card details |
| "Activation" on your account | The seller logs in to your account and pays with its own card or App Store purchase | Sharing credentials, banned by OpenAI and Anthropic | A stranger holds your password and every conversation you have saved |
| Team or Business seat | A reseller owns a multi-seat workspace and sells seats in it | OpenAI's business terms ban reselling access | OpenAI: "Removing a member ends their workspace access immediately" |
| Resold API keys and proxies | Keys from farmed credits, split plans or stolen cards, sold far below list price | OpenAI bans trading API keys; Anthropic bans unauthorized proxying | Prompts logged and resold; models swapped for cheaper ones |
| Chat bots on someone else's key | A bot runs on the operator's key and charges per message or per month | Resale of access | The operator sees every prompt, and the key can be cut off |
| Gift subscription bought for you | A seller says it buys a Claude gift plan and emails it | Anthropic says gifts are unavailable to buy | You pay above list price for a product Anthropic does not sell now |

## What are the concrete risks of a bought account?

Three, and they stack: lost access, exposed data and no refund.

- **Lost access.** A shared or pre-made account dies when the provider closes it or the seller takes it back. A workspace owner who removes you ends your access at once.
- **Exposed data.** Everyone who holds the login can read your chats and files. Tom's Hardware reported that, for proxy resellers of Claude access, "harvesting those logs is the actual business". One proxy sold as a Gemini model scored 37% on a test where the official model scored about 84%.
- **No refund.** Crypto payments do not reverse. One large account marketplace caps its refund at 50% when the AI service bans an account because it was sold, and the "30-day warranty" in listings appears in no marketplace rule we read: it is the seller's promise.

Stolen money sits behind part of this supply. Reports describe account pools bought "with stolen credit card details", and Anthropic found "a single proxy network managed more than 20,000 fraudulent accounts simultaneously" (February 2026).

## How often does a banned AI account get back online?

Rarely. According to AISubswithCrypto's calculation from Anthropic's transparency report for January–June 2026 (read 23 October 2026), Anthropic banned 11.4 million accounts, received 398,000 appeals and overturned 42,000. That is about 1 appeal in 10 (10.6%), and about 0.4% of all bans. Method: 42,000 ÷ 398,000 and 42,000 ÷ 11.4 million.

These figures cover every ban, not only bought accounts, and OpenAI publishes no equivalent figure in our research. They still set the odds: once a provider closes an account, the buyer has little chance of getting it back.

## Is "activation on your own account" safe?

No. The seller needs your email and password, or a live session, to pay for you. That is the credential sharing both OpenAI and Anthropic forbid, whatever the seller calls it.

The seller also learns everything the account holds. If it pays with a card or store purchase from another country, the subscription depends on a payment method you do not control. A store subscription cannot follow you to another account either: "Mobile subscriptions cannot be transferred between ChatGPT accounts", OpenAI says.

## What is the safe way to get ChatGPT Plus cheaply with crypto?

Pay your own account with a card you redeem yourself. A gift card that matches your country, redeemed on your own account, breaks none of the clauses above. We never sell, share or rent ChatGPT, Claude or other AI accounts, and we never ask for your login or password.

On AISubswithCrypto you buy an Apple Gift Card or a Google Play gift card at face value for BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, redeem it in the store and subscribe in the ChatGPT app ([how to use an App Store card for ChatGPT](https://aisubswithcrypto.com/redeem-app-store-card-for-chatgpt/ "How do I use an App Store gift card to pay for ChatGPT Plus?")). No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no email required, up to US$1,000 per order. The code appears in your account within 24 hours of payment confirmation.

The official [ChatGPT gift card](https://aisubswithcrypto.com/chatgpt-gift-card/ "Is there a ChatGPT gift card, and where can I buy one?") is a special case. The ChatGPT gift card is OpenAI's own US card: it is redeemed at chatgpt.com/redeem by a user in the United States and pays ChatGPT on the web, not App Store or Google Play subscriptions. OpenAI voids cards obtained from unauthorized sellers, so we take it on request only and confirm its source before any payment. The real prices by country are on the [ChatGPT Plus price page](https://aisubswithcrypto.com/chatgpt-plus-price-by-country/ "How much does ChatGPT Plus cost in each country?").

## Questions about buying ChatGPT Plus accounts

### Can I share my ChatGPT Plus account with a friend?

No. OpenAI's terms say you may not share your account credentials or make your account available to anyone else. Each person pays for their own account.

### Will OpenAI ban a bought ChatGPT account?

Using an account someone else created breaks OpenAI's terms, and OpenAI's policy says an account is meant for the individual who created it. OpenAI publishes no ban statistics in our research; Anthropic overturned about 1 appeal in 10 in the first half of 2026.

### Are cheap ChatGPT or Claude API keys safe?

No. OpenAI's business terms ban attempts to "buy, sell, or transfer API keys" with a third party. Resold keys come from farmed credits or stolen cards, and the proxy operator can log every prompt.

### Is it safe to buy a ChatGPT gift card online?

Only from an authorized seller. OpenAI sells its card through participating US retailers, and its issuer's terms void a card obtained from unauthorized sellers or resellers. It works only on US accounts billed in dollars.

### Does AISubswithCrypto sell ChatGPT or Claude accounts?

No. We never sell, share or rent ChatGPT, Claude or other AI accounts, and we never ask for your login or password. We sell gift card codes that you redeem yourself. See [who runs AISubswithCrypto](https://aisubswithcrypto.com/about/ "Who runs AISubswithCrypto?").

### Is a Claude Pro gift subscription bought with crypto legit?

Anthropic says gift subscriptions are "currently unavailable to purchase" (read 29 October 2026). A seller who claims to buy one for you is selling something Anthropic does not offer now.
